Hi, I’m Stephanie, and I’m a licensed social worker who works in and around the greater Boston area.
I believe that meaning matters — profoundly.
In a culture that often encourages and rewards self-criticism, distraction, avoidance, or the outsourcing of responsibility, I work with individuals who are willing to confront the deeper questions: What are your values? What are you avoiding? What might your life require of you?
I look to create a space where you are deeply heard — not indulged, not judged — but understood. From that foundation, we begin the more courageous work: examining the patterns that keep you stuck, the beliefs that quietly shape your life, and the responsibilities you may be ready to step toward.
Anxiety, depression, resentment, relational strain — these are not simply problems to eliminate - they’re signals. Often, they emerge when we’re living out of alignment with our values, when we have silenced parts of ourselves, or when we are carrying more than we were meant to carry alone.
My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral strategies with insight-oriented and relational work. We’ll look carefully at your thoughts and behaviors — but also at your history, your attachment patterns, your internal narratives, and the meaning you’ve constructed about yourself. Change is both practical and profound: we clarify your values, restructure unhelpful thinking, build disciplined habits, and cultivate emotional regulation — all within the context of a therapeutic relationship that is steady, respectful, and engaged.
I work particularly well with individuals who:
…feel stuck despite being capable
…struggle with self-doubt masked by overachievement or perfectionism
…experience guilt, shame, or chronic dissatisfaction
…want to build disciplined habits and meaningful goals
…appear high-functioning but feel internally overwhelmed
…carry invisible responsibility within their families
…are navigating identity, partnership, or major life transitions
Therapy with me is not passive. It’s an ongoing dialogue that thrives on honesty, courage, and sustained effort. But the reward for that effort is significant: greater internal coherence, increased resilience, and a life structured around chosen values so you can live with conviction.

I have advanced training in evidence-based and integrative therapeutic approaches. My clinical work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), supporting clients in developing practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and more balanced thinking.
I am also trained in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), an approach that emphasizes partnership, flexibility, and skill-building—particularly helpful for children, adolescents, and families navigating behavioral and school-related challenges. My work is consistently informed by a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the impact of past experiences on present functioning and prioritizing safety, attunement, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship.
Additionally, I incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in my work with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive patterns, helping clients gradually face fears while reducing avoidance and compulsive behaviors.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Stonehill College and a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Boston University. I also have a School Adjustment Counselor (SAC) license in the state of Massachusetts.
